RIP

RIP

RIP Google+. Your cost of switching was too high (starting over recruiting friends, adding, linking, figuring out how to use it) .. compared to the implied value added – which was basically zero.. as your features are, if not the same, similar.

a bit of free advice for Google

Posted by: Lou on Jul 11, 2011 | No Comments

I have dipped my toe in the world of Google Plus. And- of course I have an opinion.

I am a huge advocate of the fact that there is room for eveyone in almost every market. That you can compete with the major players and that in some instances, when executed correctly, you can overtake them. Google Plus is not one of those cases.

Google Plus has their priorities all wrong. In order to compete against Facebook, and/or overtake them in the popularity stakes they would have needed to offer the social public added value and make the cost of switching low or non existent.

This has nothing to do with marketing.. social media or PR for that matter… but it is exceptionally funny – especially to those of us who have been there – or are still there!
